The martins have been roosting here over two weeks. I took the gourds down yesterday because they were getting poop all over them. All my birds have fledged except two nests. I thought taking them down would discourage them from roosting but not the case. The grass sure is green below the racks.

Glad you saw them this afternoon Emil. this morning I still just had one male but this afternoon I saw 2 males come in. Didn't get to watch until dark.

Thanks, he landed on the gourd like he knew where he was.

One ASY male came this morning at 9:00 and touched down on gourd after circling for a few minutes. Was 45 degrees at the time with a high of 60 degrees this afternoon.
This is the earliest ever, last year the first came on Jan 26 last year.

That sounds good Emil, probably be a lot more when the weather gets better.

Emil, mine also started building today. My egshell feeder is also a nest material platform. I filled it with pine straw this morning and it's empty now. You are right when you say when one starts the others follow.

Yesterday January 27 about 9:00 am 1 ASY male and 1 ASy female arrived. This morning was able to get a picture of the male. Female still inside, was 32 degrees this morning.

Congratuation Emil, you said they would probably come before the weekend was over. They know a good place when they see one.

The weather has been beautiful this week in the low 70's in the afternoon.
Monday I had 4 birds and this afternoon Saturday 20 came in for the night. There has been an increase everyday this week. Next week the weather will also be good.
