It's 4-14-21 and I have yet to see a purple martin in KY near Clarksville. I have seen only one tree swallow who wanted to nest in my Wren house but gave up. I don't want to open my gourds until I see one so the house sparrows won't take up residence. Am I doing this wrong? This is only my 2nd year ...

This was my first year with PM's. I got interested ASY's but no mating and nesting. Spent most of Springtime fighting off House Sparrows. My question is since I had interested ASY's check out my gourds, when do I open my gourds next year? Won't those ASY's come back as SY's early?
