I was in your neck of the woods (Starksville, West Point) during that bad weather and visited the tornado site near Macon that destroyed a home. Y'all get some rough weather there.

He must have stayed last night after all because I checked out there with my binocs after 8 this morn, and I could see a male martin perched on the top floor porch!!!!!

I'm quite disappointed. The pair only stayed that first night. Then the male returned alone the next three nights. I don't think he returned tonight, but I didn't outside this time (allergiees). I did watch and listen through the oak limbs, but I didn't see anyone fly in the house. Sigh........

Maybe so! Was wondering what anyone else has observed. This part is new to me.

After getting all publicly excited about a pair sleeping in my house for the first time ever, only ONE returned last night. What does that mean?

Only ONE martin returned to the house this evening! I think it was the male, but it was hard to tell in the dim light. What does THAT mean?

We HAD been cleaning out the sparrow nests and had just done so Monday before the martins arrived. We may have three sparrow couples now rebuilding.

Oh I am happy! But feeling a little deflated and worried about what the sparrows might do. I'm not seeing the martins much today. It's real windy so maybe they're hanging somewhere else til the weather changes. Hope so! I may have gotten all excited way too soon!
