Don' t have a starling problem and no house sparrows . My BIG problem is the owl I think I won' t be happy until these entrances are...

A question for Steve K.

Steve Are all your Trendsetter entrances round. I have lost my third bird to wing entrapment. Two last year .I have the starling resistant ones. I took your suggestion and talked with the manufacture and am sending picture of this one. I got nest trays ,trimmed them , put down non skid tape. The owl...

It has been rough even down here . North wind gusting to 15 to 20 makes flipping crickets impossible and the poor crickets died immediately. Has been a struggle to get Handwarmers in guords. They are sleeping together thank goodness . They do have a bayou that is protected to try to feed . Today sho...

All the information can only benefit the martins. My posting was not meant to be critical . My comment regarding data was not referring to your data but to the panhandle not being included in much of "Florida" stats in general
Thank you for the info

I report in on Fl but live across the bay from Ala and according to the charts my martins don't use the "Fl" flyway. My reports have been first or 2nd week of Feb. Often data regarding other matters does not match the panhandle data.

Thank you for replies. We are trying to transition from gourds because of the owls. We have a t14 which is great but heavy for us to handle. Have a lonestar goliad enclosed in a cage my husband made and they love it too. This house will be hard to put a cage around but will have to try it looks like...

Trendsetter 16 problem

First year with Trendsetter 16 didn't go well ! Owl did attack and wonder if that contributed to 3 birds getting caught trying exit Starling resistant entrances which have the pad installed. Didn't have trouble getting in . One bird died before I got to it. Should I remove the pad.? Is upsetting!

Please, please don't give up or go crazy either! One option is if it happens again and you have a rehab close enough you can take the fallen one to them . I had this happen late in one season and figured out only mom was trying to tend to them. If they go there they will need to be released with oth...

First Flights

First flights usually go pretty well. Some not so much! A first landing on the neighbor's pier left one fledgling reluctant to try again. My husband and I were ready for a water rescue. The parents made three passes ending with them landing beside the kid and then flying off. The third time he went ...

Somebody's martins are held up here

The weather has been windy and record low temperatures for us. The last five evenings we have been inundated with at least 50 martins seeking housing . It breaks my heart but the weather is breaking so I hope they resume their journey safely. We do have food back in the protected swamp and wetland a...

Starlings

I put troyer tunnels on my t14 and it stopped my current starlings. Have there been starlings that breach them. My starlings haven't been to aggressive as the regular starling resistant entrances have worked on the gourds but not the house?.Thanks

Connie,
Thank you for the advice . I had a scaup with a bright yellow bill patch. It took a few links among friends to find the origin , why he was tagged ( he was chubby) and who did it etc
Thanks again,
Sue
