Re: Mine are LATE, 2 flew by, 1 (New?) Scout

I don't know about a password for the scout report. I had a hard time with that site at first but finally got it on my phone (Samsung android) and then got it on my IPad (Apple). I think it was fixed. This is the latest for me in Georgetown also. It's frustrating but I know they are coming.

Re: Some tweaks to Scout-Arrival Study

I noticed yesterday that I could finally get the report on my iPad. Loving it! Thanks so much for the fix. :)

Re: Scout report problem!

Yes, I have that problem also. I finally decided it's an Apple thing. I can finally get it on my Samsung Galaxie phone but not my iPad and Mac computer. This is the only report I've seen about this except for mine.

Re: Scout-Arrival Study - current status

I have been having a hard time with the purple Martin reporting site for some reason. When I click on Texas, I get nothing although when I did it over a week ago, I did get the report from Sugarland. When I click on Florida, it says there are no reports from Tennessee. Don't understand what's going ...

Early Fledged Bird

There was a baby flapping its wings in my back yard today. When I got close he would fly low to another part of the yard. I managed to get it back to under the houses so hopefully a parent would feed it. As it was getting darker, I decided to pick it up and try to put back into the house I found it ...

Thanks for your reply. I do feel better. I guess I have not been outside that time of night to hear it. We don't have any huge trees around us and don't think we have owls near. I took out a large sparrow nest in the other house around 7 last night. They have not been " checking into" my t...

Nighttime chirping

I was in the backyard at 10:50 tonight and heard martins chirping in one of the houses. I never heard them late at night before. I didn't see anything unusual around the house or on the house and they were inside the house. Is this common to be chirping at night? I will check things our more in the ...

Thank you Craig. You have all helped me. Now we have to learn to walk around our back yard and not get attacked. :) Hint : don't go near a baby Mocker . As a child I found one perched on my bicycle . It seemed quite docile so I picked it up for a closer look . Everything was fine until we made eye ...

Mockingbirds

I just noticed mockingbirds building a nest in our small myrtle tree. It's close enough to the martin houses that I worry. Should I worry?

Sparrow traps

I have one of those traps and just white bread as bait. I put pieces around the entrance . When I have sparrows, I put some bread inside around the sides to feed the birds and attract others. When I empty the cage, I usually leave a female in as bait. I've caught quite a few but some days none at al...

More martins

Well, after finding a dead martin last week ( think he froze) and the other two just disappearing, I returned home today after a weekend in the Dallas area to find six martins on my 2 houses. I opened up two more compartments- for a total of six open- and put some meal worms inside the compartments....

Carolyn, We live in Georgetown also. Unfortunately we were out of town when the cold hit. Lowered the housing yesterday after we returned and didn't find any birds. Then I saw ours come in last night. I was so VERY relieved. Yours are probably OK but you need to check and see. Sharon Thank you Shar...

Carolyn, ours fed Sunday, then just stayed in mon & tues, are out feeding today. Check on them - they are probably okay. You could put some dead crickets in there when housing is down, or might find a weak bird you could help by warming it up and providing food. Wish I had some crickets. I kept...
