Hi. I would love to have the claim here in Canyon, TX! :) Yes, there are colonies in SE New Mexico, and I am trying to confirm a colony in Clovis, New Mexico. Nesting has been documented in that area. All of these are west of of any colony in Texas. I have a paper written that will update their stat...

Atta boy, Anthony!

I was gonna suggest that everyone go to the PMCA store and make a donation. I did that day. Not a big one, but every little bit helps!

Thank you, Dick! We sure hope to!

Let's Help Move the PMCA Forward

All, I have resigned my position on the Board of the Purple Martin Conservation Association. There are great times ahead for the PMCA and I will be excited to watch all that unfold. They have a great team in place, including new Education and Research Research Manager, Joe Seigrist. He is going to d...

Kirk, The duration of time that parents bring their young back to the nest at night can vary from 'not at all' to a few weeks. But normally it is somewhere in between. There may be a number of factors that influence this including harassment from predators and other martins, age of broods upon fledg...

Hi Dick, I wanted to mention that there was a feral cat feeding on martins under the trees when we were there.

I wonder if there is more than the one and if that harassment is moving them around? Just a thought.

I did chase it off. :)

Thank you Cliff! Your family is fantastic. Today, I shared your article and the photo of Jackson and I with our mutual friends, the McCays, formerly of the Christian Church in Nowata, now at our church in Amarillo. He lit up! He guessed your Granddad as soon as I mentioned Nowata and Purple Martins....
