One asy male has been here since yesterday. He lands on the houses and looks in but yet to enter... I think, but can't prove that he is the original male that has fledged 11 young in the last two years.. Hope she gets here soon or any other girl for that matter....

I am glad your Martin is back, more will show up soon! I finally have 3, 2 males and one female. I am located 12 miles North of Claremore, on the south side of Oologah Lake. This is the latest in 16 years that I got Martins, and they would not land until I took the decoys down. (it was the first time that I had decoys on the gourd racks at the beginning of the season).
Have a great Purple Martin Season!

Barbara, I have always had decoys and he doesnt seem to be avoiding them i just think since he is the only one around he is leary of getting too settled. He has been here off and on all morning. I don't see him in the afternoon at all and he does not roost here unless i am missing him. He must feed all day, and with it getting cooler tommorrow i may not see him at all. This is kinda how it was last year then we had the cold april week and i didnt get any stayers till late April..

Went out this morning around 8 am and saw a pair of asy's and they went into the same compartment as last year and stayed in there for an hour or so. Went out to check on them an hour after that and now i have 2 asy males and a female. Cant wait to see what stays the night!!!!!
