OK I give , not enough BB's to go around and I don't want to shoot up my PM house. Please can someone tell me if the spare-o-door trap will fit in my PM house( or one that will). This house is not much but the PM's love them here. I'm going to order starling doors(sorry haven't learned the PM lingo yet),from PMCA and want to get a trap for the house too. I have a repeat ground trap, but that doesn't help keep them off the PM house. The sparrows are here by the tons, Please HELP, If my son did this right , a pic of the PM house is included  , Mary

My best trap is one that I built a couple of years ago. It's a nestbox trap that lands the starling or sparrow in a cage below the nestbox and it works great. If you are handy, or have a spouse or friend who likes to build things, this one is wonderful.

If you have barred or great horned owls in your area, I suggest either enlarging your compartments or putting owl guards in place. I lost a martin colony from owl attacks on a house like that. Not chiding you in any way, because I know from experience that martins love that house in some areas (here included)- I'm just letting you know that owls are a huge problem and Heath houses make the martins vulnerable. I had no idea until I watched it myself, before I knew much of anything about martin colonies. :-(

Mary,
I highly recommend the Universal Sparrow trap sold through the PMCA. I have 2 that I use in a plastic 12 room trio house that is like a magnet for sparrows and starlings. I've taped up 5 holes on each side and have placed one trap on each side in the open hole. I have had both traps full almost every day for the last week and a half. Fortunately, we don't have any martin arrivals yet so it's a great time to start thinning them out. I also have a repeating sparrow trap and a repeating starling trap (like the one in Liz's picture) that I built. Neither has produced like the trio house. Just remember to check your traps every day, as I did catch a SY male last year.

I have a castle house like yours in my garage at home. When I get home tonight, I'll see if the universal trap will fit in the castle room.
If you really want to do something, you'll find a way...If you don't, you'll find an excuse.

Nope. Doesn't fit. Not without some modification.
