I have a titmouse brooding 5 eggs in one of my bluebird houses. I'm really surprised to see her there since it's an area with high human activity. Every year I have titmice checking out my bluebird houses, and occasionally they start nests, but they usually abandon the nests before they finish because my backyard has lots of activity with my three sons playing back there. Bluebirds don't typically care and will nest and raise young without concern, but the titmice are much more shy.
Does anyone have experience with nesting titmice? Can I expect to see them back again next year?
Thanks!

I have a pair too! They don't use a box every year but I like watching them when they do. They are great little birds!
