I just so happen to walk by the patio window to the deck and my eyes spotted a bird hovering around the "red" T14. I rushed to get the binoculars and watched him land on a porch or two, then fly over the the "blue" T14. He landed on the porch that is oriented exactly to the red one facing south. Stayed there for a few seconds then appeared to hover around the back yard. I got dressed, ran out side and immediately removed the "foam noodles" that are blocking entrance to those two cavities. I have a few of the gourds open as they are the first to be occupied. Could it be my first sigthing? Are my eyes playing tricks on me? I stayed in the back yard for a bit but honestly it was to darned cold and I never saw my mystery guest return. Unfortunately we are going away for the weekend and I won't be able to keep watch until next week. I've noticed a few more sightings in the TN area but they seem to be coming from the GA/AL southeast border but none this far north. Could a few have made it this far? Oh, the torture! LOL

Hey D,
I totally believe it's possible. I believe that strong South wind we had yesterday blew a lot of Martins North even though It got real cold later in the day. I had 7 Martins show up yesterday. They stayed in the gourds most of the day today because it never made it to 30 degrees. If it is your Martin, It should be ok because the temps should improve towards the weekend. Hope you have a great season!
