2nd year that I have been trying, had some fly overs last year. Today I have 2 or 3 birds flying around my housing. I had what I believe to be a young female fly in and out of my gourds and house numerous times. She perched on my house for a good amount of time, she left and came back again. She stuck her head inside the gourds and came back out and chirped. After doing this several times she finally left for the day. Fingers crossed this is my year!
Newbie had visitors today!!!

I tried to attach a photo for everyone to look at. Today I came home from work and she was around again, she perched on top of my house for about 5 minutes then flew away and chirped several times! I am not sure if she spent the night or not. I am not sure if there are any colonies close by or not.

Well yesterday she was here when I got home from work for about 10 minutes perched on top of house. Today I did not see her at all, and it was a beautiful night. When I saw her on Sunday she went into the gourds part way, not all the way inside? I have the tunnels on the gourds, now I am wondering if she couldn't figure out how to get into the gourds? I also left the daytime chatter play while she was here, maybe I should have turned it off? Oh well see what happens!

- Martin Colony History: Started trying to attract purple martins in 2012! It's finally happened in 2017! 5 years!!! ASY male and SY female came May 1st, fledged 5 babies!
You got half the battle whooped! She seems to like your site! She will go all the way in if interested! Is a male with her when she comes by! She may just be visiting and looking for the birds she hears on the cd playing! Maybe turn it low and see if she comes back. Good luck!
