Manage 7 different colonies in Colby Kansas.

I’m estimating 35-40 birds are here at the main colony. There’s still more coming in every couple days. The subbies should be arriving the first week of May so that will be fun. The martin have really started nest building. I witnessed the first one yesterday evening at my moms house. Yes we finally have a pair! Pretty exciting. There are 2 trees that will be coming down to open it up a little more. But anyways I went ahead and filled my nest material basket with pine needles and they were absolutely going crazy with them this morning. I will try to get some pictures of them using it! I hope everyone has a great year!

Send pictures!!

Seriously. Very good to hear of your colonies. I am as well having many more than last year. I may end up doing better than double the 4 pairs I had last year. I can go outside and see a Martin in the air at any time of the day. I haven't seen that since I was a kid 40 years ago. Absolutely loving it as there is nothing that says it's summer time more than the chatter of Martins in the air.

I really like to hear bout your colony so thanks for posting and looking forward to pictures.

Heres my gourd rack from a couple of days ago.
