Well, I've got a 2fold post...
My first pair of martins are about to fledge their brood!!! Woooooo!!! So whoopie!!!
But here's a question.... How late will one see new pairs of martins come to a new site? My first pair are sub adults but today I've noticed a male and female checking out gourds and houses and he is a straight up full on purple adult! HAWT dang! They're looking super interested and I may have seen some grass or straw in the males mouth this afternoon as he flew to one of the gourds.
I'm in north Alabama.
Thanx all!
Late nesting...

Piggy backing on this topic, I have a Martin nest that is complete, including leaves, but no eggs. I still see them martins go in and out of it daily, but as of last nest check 2 days ago, no eggs. When does it get to be too late to expect eggs?
