I put up the PM houses in January 2025, and that time is fast approaching! Won't be long before we start getting the PM sightings in Florida and the news they are heading our way. I ordered my pine needles from the "Shop Purple Martin" and they are on their way. I need to get the houses down out of the attic and do necessary repairs so I don't get caught short and have my Martins heading to stay with someone else. SO, this is a friendly reminder for those landlords here in the South to consider what has to be done for the upcoming season. GOOD LUCK !!

Conrad too right! Its just at the cusp of arrivals. Time sure dragged the last 2 months.
Good advice, get ready now and work out the kinks. Last year had jan 27 arrivals, 10 days early. Talk about NOT ready. Ran out, got the house up and that bird zoomed right in. Raised up the gourds and we were in business.
Do the final checks now, sure right!
Here's to a bang up season sir!

I put my houses up January 26 and got my first birds Feb 1st. It snowed really heavy the week before I put the houses up. Glad the birds waited for that mess to pass before they came.

Dang just in time!!! And agree, don't want that kind of stress.
Good post, time to start shaking things loose.

I'm already getting ready myself. Not wise to wait till the last minute because you might have to order something and wait for it. Then you might have to wait for a day off with good weather so you can make the necessary adjustments. Good post and good advice.

I’m not ready and was hoping to get an owl guard up but not sure it will happen. I have the month of January. They showed up the first week of February last season. Need to add to my collection of frozen crickets because last year they ate all of them. The weather was so cold and they were hungry. Getting nervous and excited at the same time. One year I had a scout show around the first of January. Not good. Has anyone put up an owl guard after their arrival? Brent
