Question about feeding of young

As a first year landlord I have been lucky enough to get 5 nesting pairs. I have been watching the parents bring in some rather large Dragonflys. My question is simply, do they stuff that whole dragonfly down the mouth of one of the nestings? Do the nestlings tear it apart? What exactly happens with these rather large morsels?

Yep down the hatch one gulp. You've seen the little things-they're all mouth. They start with a bowlus (sp?)-more or less a spit ball with small flies, mosquitoes, etc. when they are very young. They start feeding progressively larger insects as they grow.
It always bums me out when all the young in the houses are nearly fledged, because before that, we never have a fly one in the house. After most of the young reach 20 days or so, we have house flies all over.
