I like where "X" marks the spot.

You could actually have two or three Martin domiciles there in a line left to right. Has a very wide open fly way, it's close to human activity and a structure. Since yours is pretty well planted already perhaps you can look at this area for when you want to expand.

That's my $0.02 worth.

Or you could do this.

Move it to the single red "X" then whack out the trees noted with the multiple "X's". Get that done and you'll have plenty of room to expand in the future as well as be able to attract some this year.

There were pics in the string of discussion I had previously. In case u can't see them...I'm using a birdhouse I built to PMA standards 8 years ago. It sits in an open field with one questionable tree about 60 feet from it. With two crescent gourds attached as well. Yes I am playing the Dawnsong, using Decoys, mirrors . Still waiting

I live in west central WI and have had one Martin sighting on the 19th! kind of wondering if something is going on? Starlings and House sparrows are kept in check. Had first pair last year and fledged 5
