Nice looking house Tom, great work as always, I like those entrances. Were you holding your breath while cutting? lol I hope it fills up for you this year sir!
I just finished putting 28 “Leak Stoppers” on the gourds. Had a couple nests a little wet for the first time last year, hopefully this will eliminate it for this season.
Yep, first Martins of the season reported in Central Florida…. They are on their way gentleman. Saw my first one Feb 5th last year, gonna put everything up middle of January.

Phil,
Shoot they should be right over your head about now! Soon sir, very very soon for you.
Yes, I had one cut to make and it had best have been right...I think I stuck my tongue out and made faces...at least that's what my wife said. So yep. I hope so too, be interesting to see how they react when they don't see the trio...ill have a front row seat...I work out there now.
Thats a good addition, know Mr Barrow uses them. Water just gets everywhere.
Here's to a bang up 2025 season!

Tom,
I know right, don’t think I haven’t been looking to the sky already even though it’s way early for me. Time for my semi-annual “Martin neck”.
Lmao! I know exactly what you’re talking about, I cringe whenever I have to make a cut or hole that will be irreversible if I screw up… I had to drill out the Troyer hanging holes to 1/2” so they fit…. I did some practice runs on my old gourds so I didn’t destroy the good gourds, and I’m glad I did… lol Note to self, don’t hit the hole at speed with the drill, it chews up the hole like Swiss cheese if you’re off a little..
Go slow with the trigger..
Yes, it will be very exciting to watch their behavior and reaction when they see your new housing! Putting up additional housing or replacing is really cool to watch. When you see that first bird go through the entrance it’s like YES!! I put up that sunset inn for the first time last year and my eyes were glued to it waiting for birds to take to it… Wasn’t sure how they would feel about the crescent entrances.. Sure enough had SY pairs in 3 out of 6 in the house and ASY pairs in all 4 gourds beneath. Was so cool to watch..
Let us know how they react to that pretty new house. Should be a great story and fun observation.
Have a great 2025 season sir!
