My martins, now at 14, loved the new Troyer vertical gourd with porch design, unfortunately I have been watching two starlings breach the entrance regularly all day.

One of them must have taken one too many vitamins, he seemed to die of lead poison, the other one is burning a few extra calories everytime he see's me and the .410!

I'm still undecided, but I may go back to my trusty supergourds with SREH, never had a breach with them!

TerryG--

I just thought, you and I need to take a trip up the road to see MingjoMartins' set up. Sounds like he has alot of room, if he is using a 410 on the Starling. I can't imagine 14 pairs of Martins in one spot.

By the way how is the V-trap working out??

I'm still getting visiters -- from time to time. One will stay soon.

Dave and Terry -

Your welcome anytime you can catch me at home, but I don't want you to be disappointed, it's only 14 birds....not 14 pairs yet!

And not certain what happened today, starling breach and major sparrow infestation.

I'll be sitting on the patio with the .410 in the morning once again, and the repeating traps are set.

Thanks for the invite... Terry and I have not even made it to the Golf course yet at the same time but once, and then we did not play. I had a league play and he with friends. Finding the time and the day will be sometime down the road,... but we or I will call a day or so in advance.

14 Martins are more then I have at the moment... I am still waiting..

It may be possible that the starlings are a little smaller. Remember all entrances are starling resistant not starling proof. So it is possible that the starlings could be getting in no matter what entrance you had.

The thought has crossed my mind, I will have to get some directions from you and make the round (270) trip.

Hope you are having a great start this year. I m still waiting but It won't be long. (This is week seven plus 4 days since the first bird arrived in the area). As you can see I m counting the days, for the Subbies to arrive in full force. I looking for next week to be the right time, and there after.

Send me a E-mail on how to get to your colony. I will do my best this summer, to get there and visit..

Best of Luck

Dave, had the first subbie show up last week. You can tell when they get in town because the serious fighting begins. Counted approx. 60 birds in residence as of yesterday. I'll P.M. the address. Stop by any time. Big T
