Cute! Those gourds do kinda look like eggs, don't they?
Maybe you need to take a trip to Brazil or something to see more Martins. Poor fella. The New England winters are getting to you.

Just a little off season humor to wake up the forum…. I’m doing just fine folks. A vacation to a warmer climate does sound good though.
I made the turkey about 12 years ago and had plans to build a few more but the painting was such a time consuming task so I only made one. The tail fits into a slot for easy removal and body folds flat for storage; it goes on display every year at Thanksgiving. Actually if you think about it everything in the picture was probably used at the original meal…. Wild turkeys served, food containers, bowls and drinking cups formed out of gourds. And maybe people sitting or lounging around on piles soft pine needles instead of the cold hard ground.
I have been busy taking down my gourd racks and into storage, all gourds are cleaned out and have started my next project , installation of pvc elbow vents on my gourds
