Not many new reports in Wisconsin or Illinois since the 12th and 13th. With the bad weather I'am not surprised. I haven't seen any at my housing since the first report on the 12th. He may have been a visitor. I hope mine are still in warm weather. I wonder if martins will go back south some if the weather is bad like it has been. Looks like 50's and higher from now on.

nbaum - yes - it looks like we are hopefully in for some much better weather. Still nothing to write home about but at least warm enough for bugs to be flying and no snow. Good luck!

Currently I have 3 gourd racks with 24 gourds. One gourd rack will be for sy arrivals only.
Bo Eleven gourds 20

Our lakes and ponds still have snow and several inches of ice. The only open water is streams and flowing water into lakes. I still have a foot of snow under the gourd racks. With the sun and warmer temps, that should finally leave this week. I have been able to get gourds on 1 out of 3 racks, but I didn't have time to prep them properly, as it was cold. I wanted to get some up in case I had an early arrival. I hope to get the rest up tomorrow. Looks like spring has finally arrived. What an unbelievably long winter. I think we have gotten spoiled with the mild winters the last several years. I would normally have martins by now, and I see there are some showing up very close. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all southern landlords for taking care of our birds until the ice and snow melts. You guys are awesome. Good luck with your martins, and enjoy the nice weather!
