Hi Joanne,

I seem to be in a similar situation just to the south of you. I have one ASY-M that arrived last Saturday. To my knowledge he has not spent the night but arrives each morning around 7:30 am looking very 'dewy'. I suspect he is roosting in trees. He hangs out on the housing the better part of the morning and then disappears. He too is determined- hope more birds arrive soon for the both of us. We have the same storms predicted Friday evening but warmer temps after that.

Vinicius showed up here 13 days ago solo and has brought in an additional ASY male on several occasions but still solo as of yesterday. Stayed 9-10 of the 13 nights. Still waiting on additional birds but last year first bird was 4/2 and first overnight was 4/13 so long way to go for us folks in IN, KY, and VA and further north. Good luck everyone.

My biggest deal this year has been the BB and TS. I've got 3 pair of TS and they'vepushed some BB out of a gourd (big time fight to the ground)...TS won. Had about 10 cavities open and after a work day trip saw a BB going into primary rack with nesting materials. Closed it up and put up a new BB house about 15 feet from the TS fight and gourd. BB started building nest within the hour and has claimed that new housing for the year. May have to add more BB/TS housing to the edges of the field nest year. looking for some ASY females to begin showing.... I think i've seen and heard at least a dozen BB's this year around the property...and the TS are dominating the skies with their high pitched sounds and bug gobbling with temps in the upper 50's lower 60's during the day time. I believe it's going to be a big year.... a few birds a little early but the big numbers will show up late. Peace
