I haven't seen PMs at my house for at least 10 days. I took down my set up yesterday. Today, I saw several PMs circling over head and being very vocal. I have a cover over my PM house. Should I take it off? Or not worry about it? Thanks

I was going to take mine down last weekend, but found some babies (they have feathers and their eyes are open) in one compartment only. I left them up. Now I have babies sticking their heads out of a different compartment on the other side of the house. I wonder how long to leave them up myself. I need to get them down before we start getting "H" (you know, the H word). If something gets in the gulf, my job requires my attendance and I won't be able to take them down then so I need to get them down soon. They are usually down, cleaned, and put in the attic by this time. This is the latest by far.

I've heard of a few other Louisiana landlords who have later than normal fledges. The more PMs added to the population, the better!

If they are just passing, and probably are, they will be just fine. Probably been winging by and just looking at their old nest sites for a while, when it changed they investigated.
Late nests here too, 13 or 14 days old, 3 nests. 11 chicks total, wont change a thing until they fledge. Its crazy, nest checks all the way through, zero eggs. Every other cavity fledged NOW they decide to have eggs and then chicks. Still have visitors, seems like the whole colony comes every morning so I'm happy those pairs have company and its really nice to see them this late in the game.
