Re: SREH Opinions

I want to practice attaching pictures. Never been good at it. Adding one eight inch aluminum plates over three quater inch wood also prevents wing entrapment.

Re: SREH Opinions

I used 1/8 inch aluminum straps 2 inches wide I cut out a crescent opening and screwed it to the outside of the Woodhouse the opening is as smooth as a baby's bottom and the Martins love it going very easily

Re: Tree swallow question

I have had a single pair of TS at my site for several years. That pair will not allow other TS anywhere near my colony. If the TS get a little upity. My martins use a coordinated whole colony effort to evict TS from the better housing units to a unit which no martin wants.

Raymond,
One way to search is from the "scout report". From the home screen. Piick research/scout reports arrival. Select LA. Go to 2013. You will see towns and names of land lords in your area. Hope this helps. Stephen

sreh vs round?

Why spend time trapping and shooting starlings? Martins use either enterance equally well. With sreh starling are not a problem. Don't make it easy for starlings.

everything wrong still lots of martins?

I was camped near Wheeler's Point, Rainy River for 4 days last week end. I was fifteen feet from one of twenty or so martin houses scattered around the campground. I talked to the landlord and he said quote: "I don't do anything for the martins except put the houses back up when they fall down....

pictures of my back yard birds

First post. I started 20 years ago. No martins until I started reading the Forum. The last four years one breeding pair to 3 to 7 to 19 last year. My yard is small 76 feet on the lake and trees encroach some but is open to the east. That helps a lot. Here in Minnasnownta the 1st martins return aroun...
