Currently I have 3 gourd racks with 24 gourds. One gourd rack will be for sy arrivals only.

I am so excited. Finally after 11 years I may be starting a colony. Monday an asy male was here when I got home from work. I think he is the sy that showed up in June of last year. Anyway, wednesday morning he brought in 2 females. An asy and sy. He paired with the sy female. The asy female is still here today and there is another asy male. However, it looks to me like the asy female wants the other male who looks to be interested in the trio grandpa, but is paired with the sy female. The new asy male seems to want a gourd. Do you think the asy female will decide to pair with the new male? That would be cool and I would then possibly have 2 pair. This sure sounds confusing. Hope you guys get my drift. Will have to wait and see what happens. It is great no matter what happens

Great News, Trishy! There is a very good chance you could get two or more nest out of this arrangement.
I am thinking that if the lady that is being shunned finally gives up, it will turn it attention to one of the other birds. This kind of activity is what draws even more birds to your site. Never can tell.
Wishing you the best. After 11 years, it certainly would be nice, huh? You deserve it for your dedication.

I don't have enough experience to answer your question about the mating, but it sounds wonderful, and I'm thrilled for you.
Especially after waiting for 11 years. Congrats!
Way to go Trishy!!! I'm so happy for you. I wish I could say the same. I see martins here every day but they will not nest here.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink.
Best wishes to you and again, congrats! Annie
Keep trying and keep your chin up, its easier to see the martins coming!!
