This is Grady from Aurora, IN. Last year was my first year and I was fortunate enough to get Martins on May 9th. I have set up my two house and gourd combos from last year. I built a T-14 this off-season and am anxious to get it up. I put my pole in the ground last week and still need to attach my houses and gourds. I have started my dawn song recording and am busy chasing sparrows. I see from the scouting report that there are birds quite close to me so I'm hoping I get to see some before May this year.
Looking forward to a great year!

Grady, four pair your first year is great !! your east of me, and your adults from last year will be arriving any day, watch early in the morning after sunrise. My bet is you won't have to play the dawn song, you will have the real thing to do it for you !! Best of luck to you in 2010 !!
Landon do you offer gourds ??

Scott here from Mooreland (Henry County). This is about my 5th year trying. Its my third year with my T14. The last two years I have had an SY male spend the some but never attract a female. Last year I had an ASY male spend a day at my site in April but I am assuming he was just passing through. Under my T14 I swapped out two of my Big Bo gourds for Troyer Horizontals. I have also had TS and BB's nesting on my property for the past 4 years.
I got my house up this weekend but I have to keep it closed off until the TS start nesting.

Yes I do. I prefer gourds. I think that's how I got my martin last year I never had martins stay the night until I put 4 gourds up. This year I put a gourd rack with 12 gourds along with the house hopefully it works.
