Hi Everyone:)

We took a couple of pictures of our Purple Martins. Things are going great; we have at least 25 Purple Martins; no subbies as of yet. The weather has been great and the Martins are enjoying hanging around the house which means we haven't had but only ONE hawk attack however I know the hawks will be drawn to the houses with all the noises the Purple Martins are making. It's nice thought to see them enjoying the days so far:)

Happy Sunday,
Ken N Sheryle

Martin Colony History: Had a colony many years ago which dwindled over a couple of years and then did not return. Kept trying each year for almost 20 years and finally had a small success in 2011 with two pairs nesting. Colony has grown slowly each year with 22 pairs in 2015. In 2016 my gourd rack of 18 gourds filled up so I added 4 more gourds and then put up a small rack of 6 gourds. All of those were claimed within a few days so I believe I have at least 25 pairs this year.

Wonderful pics! Thanks for sharing. I like the last one most: Look at my wings

Thanks everyone; we always LOVE taking pictures of the Martins.

'Stretch' the camera we used was a Canon Rebel XSI; 250 MM Lens. ...He thinks the AP 5.6; 1/250. Hope this info helps you.

My husband made up all the captions:)

Have a Wonderful Monday,
