Pics of my Lake sites

It's a rainy day here in Greensboro N.C. so I thought I would post a couple of pics of my two sites at the city park lakes. I have Tree Swallows all around but no PM's yet. I have half natural with round entrances and half BO-11 with clinger entrances. I custom built the poles with a double pulley system that works very smooth. Thanks for looking, Trent

Wow Trent! Those are absolutely beautiful racks and what wonderful sites too!
Did you build the racks too? They are very cool!

Thanks, Yes I built the rack system too. Everything to build these poles can be bought at your local HD or plumbing and electrical supply store.

Those are some of the best homemade racks that I have ever seen. You are a very talented craftsman. Maybe you can explain a little what material and how you used the it to make them. How long have those racks been in use and what kind of success have you had? Those are great looking sites, I would think the martins would love them.
Thanks for posting

Very cool.. If you would consider giving us a material list, some dimensions and maybe a brief rundown on assembly, I'll build one. Nice job..

I would be happy to give any help I could if someone wanted to built one. I could take some closeup pictures if needed and would be glad to give dim. They do take some time time build. I have built a total of 5 systems, 3 since jan. This setup took me several years to get it where I wanted it. I finally come up with the dual pulleys at top and putting a pulley inside the pipe gave me the smooth operation I was looking for. If also makes it look neater without the cable running up the outside of the pipe. There is a little welding req.
greatly interested in construction details!

Hi Trent
I'm interested in what yoour signs say and if there is a source for those.
I llive on a samll lake and the boaters now refer to my place as Martin Point....I was just thinking yesterday about some kind of informative sign on my dock...maybeI could end up mentoring someone else on the lake

I used the PMCA poster that you can purchase on this website. I had a sign company that I use with my job to make the pedestals. I have had many positive comments on it. Trent

That's a great idea re:the sign. We'll need to do something similar at Bass Lake if/when the martins come back.
Do you remember how much your setup cost to build?
Also, have you been satisfied with your predator guard on those poles? Are they removable? I'm looking for something easy to do/manage out at Bass Lake.

Courtney, Sorry I did not get back with you sooner. The pedestals were $275 each. I am sure you could build something much cheaper yourself. But I wanted something that would look very professional and hold up for a long time. I invested a lot of money in my sites but I wanted to give something back to the city I grew up in. The predator guard is the one on the PMCA site that is quick removable. It works really good. I can have the rack ready to lower in less than a minute. As you can see I need to buy two more. Thanks Trent
