Chickadee, I'm in southeast OH and my birds fed until just about dark and didn't sit out on the power lines very long as usual, they went straight into their gourds. I was worried too but they fed well. Better weather tomorrow down here. Good luck with your birds.

I was stressing today to over the weather. Just remember that it usually is the third day without food that the birds really are at risk of death. As long as the have been able to feed sometime in the last couple days they should be alright. I hadn't seen my martins since Monday evening and it rained all day yesterday. Tonight they finally came in. I assume they have been out feeding all day. It was dreary and overcast today but the temps were in the low 60's and mostly dry.

Good hatch of bugs over the pond this evening. Should be the same at Deer Creek. Things are definately improving. Terry

I'm pretty sure that my colony ate on their own Wednesday. It was the first evening that they didn't come begging, and when I flipped food for them, very few were interested. The day before, they saw me at the front porch and begged for food. Very odd for them to meet me at the front door since my colony is located at the back, but when they can't feed they seem to find me when I go outside.

Mine are the same. When they are really hungry, I get mobbed at the back door. I am actually quite pleased they do that. No mistaking the situation which is a good thing.
