I want to replace a goliad which I've seen to many issue with and lost 6 adults because of a single wing entrapment issue this year. I was gone for two days and came home to this.
Anyway i got the entrapment doodads and will attach them but plan to give the goliad away.
Anyway, I have four horizontal troyers with modified entrances and porches. I'd like a system that supports those maybe 12 or 16 of em,
and whatever other mods you experts recommend. I'd like to be able to reuse my lonestar ground stub thing and maybe get a new one to pass on.
save me digging out all that concrete.
fledged about a 80+ last year though Penny took 4 jumpers off me. Adult mortality was the big issue.
so if you had a decent budget, what would you buy from the PM store?
Thanks in advance.
Bill

If it were me my first choice of gourd rack would be the Gemini system. Then my second choice would be the super system 24 gourd rack.

Bill I would gladly help you dispose of the Lonestar Goliad if you were giving it away
I drive through Rowlett this Thursday
The goliad ground stake should be for a 2" square pole. A gemini or super system is a 3" square pole so that wouldn't work.
I would go with a deluxe gourd rack or one similar that fits your ground stake.
This recent thread of Steve's should give you some good ideas:

I replaced my S&K with a 24 Troyer gourd Super System, I have threads on here documenting my progress

Super System 24, All Troyer W/Conley 2 entrances.
these 3" rack system poles look to be about the same as my t-14 setup.
though apparently not immune to high winds. Thanks flyin-lowe and chris. I found the other threads and will continue to investigate. m./stephens, I already have a taker which is one of the drivers for getting a replacement system. One of the programmers at work and her husband over the last 3 years have really shown a strong interest in my pictures and bird books and when she mentioned about looking for martin housing, well... I need to take care of a few things. I've had martins get toes caught in porches and other things. The weight of the wing entrapment gizmo's together with nest boxes has me worried. Oh well. We do what we can. the adult losses I experienced this year have gone a long way towards making this less personal. We do what we can. It got so bad here last year that i started putting crickets out for the young, setting them inside the cavities and the adults would gobble as many as they gave away. I think the 3 or 4 times I put them out really helped take the pressure off.
