Sometimes while watching martins when they first arrive I think, "if they could only talk what stories they could tell". So many different birds and animals in the jungle and rain forest. What do they have to go through so they can come back to our country to raise there families?
I have looked at all the movies and documentarys on S. America that Netflex has to offer and never have I seen a purple martin in them.
Does anyone know of any website or movie that might show the martins in there winter habitat?

Ed, this video does not feature the lush rain forest environment you might have had in mind. It is an old BBC production featuring Sir David Attenborough and shows our beloved purple martins at one winter habitat that might surprise you. I am not sure of the date that this was produced, nor am I sure the martins are still inhabiting the refinery. Perhaps someone else will chime in with more current information.

Hey Linda, Thanks for recalling that clip. I did see it some time ago but injoyed viewing it again. That was kind of neat, I`ll bet that rig saved a lot of martins by it`s self. Not sure about the cover in a driving rain, but at least thay have lights.
Hope all you guys down there got through the storms ok. Good luck with your birds this season

Linda,
That is a great clip. Never seen it before! Do we know who's place he was filming at in PA? It's amazing to see the advancement in housing since that has aired. Thanks for sharing.
