Due to the good advice and recommendations of fellow members here, I purchased a new Beeman R7 Elite and a tin of JSB Exact pellets. Took about 15 pellets to site in the scope - then I eliminated 3 house sparrows this afternoon. My neighbor got another. It's a good feeling.... I'm afraid I might get bored now, it was way too easy.
Many thanks to those who offered assistance!
Got rid of my sparrow problem...
2010: two pair nested, 1 bird fledged.
2011: starlings/sparrows destroyed nests. I shut down the house early to save PM lives.
2012: new T-14 with SREH, & a Beeman R7. Four fledged this year.
2013: Destroyed many house sparrows, but fledged 21 PM's!

You made an excellent choice, the R7 is a good rifle. Glad you like it

At first it bothered me to think about killing a bird, but it doesn't take long to realize what a pest they are (HOSPs) and it wasn't long before I took pleasure in it. So far after some changes I made this fall and winter, haven't had any around. I keep looking though and am ready with my .22 with scope just in case!

My R7 and I disposed of 2 Hosp yesterday and 2 today. And 1 Starling. What a great weekend.
