Gobbler T, I didn't get any nesting martins last year either. TS chased off the only interested few. I've had visitors twice, male and female starting this April 3. They'll probably dash my hopes again as usual, but hope is still here. I saw what I first thought were big ole martins flying low across this little lake; but turned out to be only a flock of turkeys, about 15. I heard one gobble last evening well after dark. serioulsy. And it's every morning too, that constant gobbling. I'm thinking about trying to trap some of them alive and relocate them somewhere. Is anyone else having these kinds of problems with wild turkeys.
T-Man, I predicted that you would get martins this year, to myself; sure hope I'm right. They'll come if we can live long enough. I read in the PM magazine a while back that one guy got his after trying for 2 decades. Now that's stickitivity. Best of luck Gobbler. Three.

Hey man,
I was thinking about you just this morning while reading your last PM to me. I was wondering if you had had any luck this year. A visitor or two is at least a good start. That means your still in the game. Maybe we'll both luck out this year.

On another note, I know the perfect spot to relocate those turkey's! :wink:
Let me know when you get them caught and I'll send you an address where you can drop them off. :lol:

D'nese;

There is a tree deal, but it's pretty open really. Site is on the end of a dock with open water all around. Mostly all around. The tree leans out toward the sun and the housing and should be topped. I thought I had a man to do it but that hasn't worked out yet. I'm still going to do it though. I'd cut the tree if I was sure that was the hold up. I don't think it is though. I have a bad snake problem for one thing, but that isn't the barrier for them to at least start nesting. I can stop snakes from getting into the nest, but I can't stop them from showing up and scaring potential nesters. That happened once 3 years ago. I'll try to send a picture of my site. Thanks, and good luck with your colony this year.
