I perform nest checks about every 5 days. I feel you can keep better track of the progression of the hatchlings that way. Others may have different opinions.

Welcome Leslie & congrats on the eggs. :) The house in yr photo looks like the same house I used last season
(plastic Heath). The open ends of the porch on that house caused me problems when the nestlings were old
enough to wander out on the porch but not old enough to fledge. They would fall off the end of the porch where
there is no railing. I spent a lot time retrieving babies of the ground and putting them back in the house.
Monitor yr house closely when the babies start walking around on the porch. Best of luck!

Thanks for the heads up Don. I will be keeping a close eye for wandering babies. Maybe I can outfit the porch with some sort of "baby gate" to keep them safe.

Hi Ray, I am excited to be a part of helping these wonderful birds. I have a lot to learn and know I have found the best place for advice.

Hello Gobbler, I am delighted to "vacuum " up a few more PMs. RR can't have ALL of them. ;-).
