Well we have moved and are all settled in at our new home. Here we are at the end of April and no returning ASY's. I have to believe the entire t-14 was occupied by starlings and not purple martins as the previous owner stated. Looks like I'm back to playing the Dawnsong and I have also put up the gourd rack w 12 Supergourds. Time will tell.... I think the SY's will be here soon. At least the location is good at this residence.
On a sad note we had 13 Mallerd ducklings Sunday evening and woke up this morning to only 5. They were 4 days old and we had feed them some cracked corn but no bread. I hope we didn't contribute to their demise. The hen and drake come to our garage door every evening to be fed.

Mitch, maybe you've done it, but consider installing the Conley II replacement plates available from the PMCA on your T-14. I've had good luck with these, you will have no more trouble from starlings.

I did install the SREH on the T-14 and that has eliminated the starlings. The ones that were able to get through didn't like the mouse traps set inside of the cavities and have left for good!!!

Too bad Mitch, I was hoping you would move in and have a colony already established.

Flyin-lowe,
Did you over to a new location this year?
Do you birds back or our is new colony established? At least I now have the proper flyways and space requirements. Time will tell over the next month.
