List,
Looking to renew my current poles (S&K Tri-tels) with something a lot more "beefier", but, also need to watch out for the budget. I see S&K has a 2" square pole w/ winch system that looks nice; but, wondering how this would fair under some of the local thunderstorms this year.... looking for suggestions on what others have found to be a more permanent replacement..... HELP please!?!?

I've got the 2" square aluminum tubing for my gourd pole setup. It works very well. I do go out and crank things down when I know we're going to get a strong storm or high winds.

Thanks Kevin,
If I may ask.... How do you like the pole? If you had to do over again, would you buy again, or maybe consider another route? What racks do you have on your set-up? Just trying to get an idea if these poles from S&K would be worth the money?

I have the Gemini gourd racks and they are by far the beefiest ones I've ever used. I can't play cat and mouse with thunderstorms as I'm not always home, so I leave them at half mast all year long and feel confident the only thing that could take them down would be a tornado.
After bad luck with telescoping poles and shot nerves I bit the bullet, payed a little more and rest easy now.

Thanks Raymie,
Tried searching for the Gemini racks looking for info on the poles; but, can't seem to get the website to open. Any further info on where to go to get a working website?

Thanks Ed,
Did think about using plain ol' pipe....But, didn't think about well casing.... Could be an easy way to get this underway before season sets in...
Thanks again Ed,

Whatever you decide make sure that you have a way to raise and lower your housing. Good Luck!

Rehomed all my PM stuff. Good Luck and Best Wishes to All.
To EAH in Kansas, please send some pix to me also, as we took down a well casing type heavy duty pole with unmanaged Cheep-o house this February. Would be very interested in re-using the pole next year as a mutli purpose or gourd rack pole... mamabruff@gmail.com
Thanks!

Louis, Can you share a few photos here? I'm sure folks would like to see the homemade poles.
