Tony, I sure hope you get martins this summer. It took me 17 years to get my little colony started. I hope it does not take that long for you. Good luck...I'm pulling for you.

Thank you again to all who responded to this post. The support of so many kind people here on this forum is one of the main reasons I have kept up with this hobby. You all know the other reason! 
Some times it seems so easy for some, and such a struggle for others.
Martins are so scarce in my imediate area, and it's is almost imposible to lure them away from a unsuitable location. I have noticed in the last 6 years since taking on this chalenge that the numbers of returning birds are declining at the locations around me.
I too am hoping this will be my year. I would love to have the opportunity to re-establish the martin population in this area. Thanks again for all the kind word of encouragement and suport. Good luck to you all this season. Raise lots of babies, I need them!
