Maybe the lead guitarist was playing a "Martin" guitar.ha
Funny
Tony, Tony Tony,
Soooooo happy for you. When I first joined the forum I saw somewhere that somebody had waited 20 years for their martins!!! I am so glad it didn't take that long for you, I have only been watching your posts for a couple of years. I don't think I could have stood it for 17 more much less you
I think there will be five more pages of congrats just for you on this forum.
Have fun!
Have lots and lots of fun!
Well earned fun!
When I finish this post I am going to do the "happy dance" for you!
I do not know if I have the patience to work that long to attract any martins. I am in my third year now and it has seemed like I have been trying and hoping forever.
Thank you to each one one of you. You guy's and gal's are the greatest. If not for all the support, I would have probably given up long ago. It's not set in stone yet, but I feel real good about my chances with this pair.
Work was tough today. I only hit my thumb 4 times. If ya'll will excuse me I must go sit out side now.
Congratulations Mr Gobbler! Your patience has paid off! You should name your birds after your favorite country singers! YEE HAW!!!

Ruthless trapper of S&S year round.
2013-2016 Unsuccessful at starting a PM colony. Health problems.
Rehomed all my PM stuff. Good Luck and Best Wishes to All.
Thank you,
It is different to sit and watch your "own" birds come home for the night. (more nearve racking too!)I actually got my wife to sit out with me tonight. She told me over supper that she had posted the news on facebook today (I don't get the whole facebook thing) Anyway I think she enjoys more than she lets on. Two nights in a row, I think I'm off and running. We'll see.
How cool is that! What a great story. I am so happy for you and inspired by you. Please keep us all informed from time to time. I really want to know specifically which country album you were playing?
Martin Colony History: First pair in 2009 after 28 years of trying. 3 pairs 2010, 17 pairs 2011 and 35-45 pairs since. Many additional colonies are now springing up around mine in an area once completely void of Martins. I offer 50 compartments at my site consisting of primarily Excluder II gourds on Gemini racks. Also a wooden T-14. I utilize electric fence type predator guards on the base of the poles. Supplemental feeding is crucial in maintaining my colony. I platform feed throughout the season as needed. My site tends to be a stop over point for additional birds as they migrate further north.
Keep playing that music and dancin. I got my fingers crossed for you.
I believe you've got it happening.

Supplemental feeding plays a major role in Western Pennsylvania. Finally got my 1st pair in 2009 after 28 years of effort. The colony has grown quickly to 45 pairs that I care for. Many new colonies have now sprung up around me in the past few years as well. Where there was none.... there is many.
