- Martin Colony History: Start 2009 with one pair. Upgraded from S&K houses to two Trendsetter 12's with gourds beneath in 2013. I have experienced job, pet, and parental losses since '13. The Purple Martins lift my spirits and remind me how life continues forward by flying their little selves from Brazil back to my yard. As one forum person once told me, chin up DebA, look at the martins. Danger all around but yet they soar in the sky without a care in the world.
Excited! You go!

Had several SY females come in, they're easy to spot compared to the ASY's, look so much smaller.
Congrat's on your sub arrival.

Checked my colony this morning - no subbies here yet, expect after this latest storm front passes by there will be a huge wave of SY hit the Ohio valley.
Congrats on your new arrivals!

John,
Did you get any SY arrivals over the weekend?
I have tree swallows, wood ducks, black capped chickadees and two boxes of eastern bluebirds sitting on eggs but haven't seen a PM yet this year. I hope this year is my year.
