We've had a very slow start with the school project, but just today had 2 pair flying really close to the house. I went to start dawnsong this morning and they almost landed right on the house with me right under it. Interestingly, when I backed off, so did they. They were back this evening taking another close look. Just a couple weeks of school left so hope they decide to stay.
We continue to battle a pair a sparrows at the house. I have caught 2 females, but haven't been able to get the male. I'm afraid he will cost me if I don't get him soon. Cross your fingers for us!

- Martin Colony History: Start 2009 with one pair. Upgraded from S&K houses to two Trendsetter 12's with gourds beneath in 2013. I have experienced job, pet, and parental losses since '13. The Purple Martins lift my spirits and remind me how life continues forward by flying their little selves from Brazil back to my yard. As one forum person once told me, chin up DebA, look at the martins. Danger all around but yet they soar in the sky without a care in the world.
Oh I hope so! Great work there, RB.
