Martin Colony History: Start 2009 with one pair. Upgraded from S&K houses to two Trendsetter 12's with gourds beneath in 2013. I have experienced job, pet, and parental losses since '13. The Purple Martins lift my spirits and remind me how life continues forward by flying their little selves from Brazil back to my yard. As one forum person once told me, chin up DebA, look at the martins. Danger all around but yet they soar in the sky without a care in the world.

This is Blake (5) and his brother Evan (4). My oldest daughters' sons...and my Terrific Grandsons!!

I didn't know Blake had his hands like that behind his back. Being careful.

There are six eggs. My first are due to hatch on June 2nd.

I just love these goofy little guys. We had a full day today! Blake used my binoculars and became pretty proficient. He watched martins. I flipped crickets and a few partook so the boys could see it. Other than super wind the martins didn't need it.

That's great to see and great looking boys by the way ! I have four grandchildren three girls and one boy and only one of the girls will watch the martins with me , she loves them as much as I do , she calls them Nana's Martins ! Great pictures .

How Sweet! Reminds me of when I was young visiting my Grandma! Those boys look so serious in the first pic and funny in the last. But I'll bet Grandma had the most fun!!:-)
