Eastern Wisconsin Purple Martin Association name change

In an effort to expand our influence across the entire state of Wisconsin our name has now been changed to the "Wisconsin Purple Martin Association" formerly the Eastern Wisconsin Purple Martin Association. Please note these changes and pass them on to your friends.

Nice work. I have found that going statewide is good. It provides and is inclusive of an larger area. You will hopefully get involvement statewide. It takes longer to grow the association statewide, but in the long run it will be best. Along with the Iowa Purple Martin Organization and your Wisconsin Purple Marin Association there are a few other upper midwest organizations: Minnesota Purple Martin Working Group and the Purple Martin Association of the Dakotas. In the years to come, I would really like to see all these groups work together through the PMCA in the affilates program.

Our group is now entering its third year and it seemed like a natural progression for us to make the transition from a regional purple martin working group to one that is statewide.

We're all really looking forward to the 2014 season!

Mission Statement of the Wisconsin Purple Martin Association (WPMA):

To restore and preserve the Purple Martin population throughout Wisconsin with an educational emphasis on attracting, managing, and maintaining Purple Martin colonies for current and future generations.

I really like the mission statement Tom. Running the association can be a lot of fun. Get motivated people with you and you can accomplish a great deal for the martins.

Hey Tom…we live in far western WI (about 20 minutes north of Hudson, WI); the only thing I located on-line is listed as the "Eastern WI PM Association. Is there a specific site I should be visiting for more information/to sign-up?

I'm a "newbie", compared to most, in my attempts to become a successful host to purple martins---but a very passionate one. I'm looking for advice/tips/mentors on increasing my odds at being able to list some of the impressive numbers of nesting pairs/eggs laid/young fledged I see from the experts.

Not all name changes will show up yet, but this is the group working hard to help martins & landlords in WI. They are a PMCA affiliate organization, and we are glad to partner with them.

Hi Terry,

Sorry for the confusion. We still need to make more changes before our name transition will be complete. We are currently in the process of having our logo re-designed and our website updated. Our website update may not happen until the end of the year.

When someone mentions they have a passion for purple martins it's like music to my ears!
