Was trying to remember what you had told me about making a smaller entry on the Universal sparrow trap to avoid trapping a PM. Was it using a bottom or top of a shot glass as a pattern? I assume you drink the contents first?

ha, very funny, Charlie
The bottom of standard (?) shot glass is 1-1/4 to 1-3/8 inches, that's the end to use. Upper end is large enough for a bluebird to fit inside, maybe even a very skinny & determined martin (1-1/2 or a bit more).
