I have tried to post pictures with little or no success. I have a 35MM camera of which use 400 speed film and all of my pictures are around 1500 by1050 and won't post because they are to large. Now I'm not a pro at deciding what speed will give a Picture of 800 by800. Can you or someone else help me. Yes you can still get 35 MM film.
Thanks Dave!

Hi Dave,
It can be so frustrating for sure. There are different ways of doing it. Here's how I finally had success:

I went to photobucket.com and created an account at no charge. They have a tab that says Upload. Once the pic is there you will see link mark kind of like a paperclip. Or you might see a list of web links. On my smartphone I use the one that says IMG for forums, boards.. I hold down on the link and select copy. On my desktop it seems like I used direct. Anyway come here. Place the cursor where you want the pic. Scroll back to top of this message box and click on Img button. Don't move cursor and hold down a sec and select paste. Don't move cursor. Go back up and click Img button again. Then you can check it with the preview button before submitting.

Go to forum help button, then scroll down to photos

http://www.purplemartin.org/forum/faq.php

You resize photos on your computer, with a photo editing program - there are many of them. Here are some tips.

How do I add an attachment?
You can add attachments when you make a new post. You should see a Add an Attachment form below the main posting box. When you click the Browse... button the standard Open dialogue window will open. Browse to the photo you want to attach, select it and click OK. Depending on the size of the photo, it will either be shown directly in the post (when 400x400 pixels or smaller) or as a link which opens a new window to display your image (up to 800x800 pixels). You may upload multiple photos by following the same procedure as described above until you reach your quota limit.

Only .bmp, .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, and .tif file types are allowed.
The maximum filesize for one file is 250KB.
Each user is limited to 256KB total filesize.

How do I resize my photo in order to meet this forum's requirements?
This requires image editing software. This software usually comes with digital cameras or scanners. You can also find image software for free on the internet. You will need to refer to that software's help feature to learn how to resize images. You will find that 400x400 pixels is more than large enough for most purposes on this forum.

I use "PixSizer" you can resize 1 or an entire folder. Then i use "imageshak" to host the pictures, resize the longest side to 800 max, grab the direct link from there for each photo. After you paste the photo link here. Add the at the end of the link click preview to check, if ok then submit.
