There has been "talk" about drones. When in the right hands, I think, they are a good tool. I only flew over my colonies for a few, quick minutes. No real problems, but the martins did fly above it and holler at it.

Thanks Larry, great job! ( was that you standing in the parking lot ? or was that a guy wondering if your drone is a U.F.O ?
, sorry, just kidding ) I can'nt help but think about all the past Martin host/landlords who would have ever thought that there would be such a wonderful view of the P.Martins ! We all really follow great footsteps out from the farms and into the public. Thanks again, Larry

- Martin Colony History: Well established 90 cavity colony. Mostly plastic gourds with some custom cedar houses atop pilings out over the river. We live stream the activity on our website https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXKqSW ... Ph2tywu4eg
We are on the Maurice River. The Maurice is brackish and tidal. It meets the Delaware bay about three miles down at East Point, NJ. The area is remote and consists of dense marshland and swamp. Dragonflies abound.
Swallows arrive in mid August and finish nesting mid July. There is a large annual roost in mid August upriver a few miles at Mauricetown.
Very impressive. Can you please list the make and model number of the drone and how to acquire one?
Good luck Purple Martin Landlords.

Thanks for all the nice replies! I'm sorry, but I would rather not tell all about my camera. I will say that it is a quad copter and I had to practice flying a less expensive one before I invested in this one. Google search quad copter. There are so many choices. I have plans for more cool videos like this one. I'll tell all about my camera in a few months.

Awesome, Larry. This footage reminds me of a "drone" that took footage of the devastating tornado that recently hit Mayflower, Arkansas. By the way, that is some beautiful land there in Kentucky!

- Martin Colony History: Area is rural. Offer 28 compartments...metal housing (Lonestar Goliad) & Supergourds all w/crescent entrance holes. Purple martins are abundant here and eager for quality, well maintained, safe housing. Expect near 100% occupancy this season.
Great fun Larry! Have watched your video several times & have shared it with friends.
Is that a Goliad I see in the final shot?

Great video, Larry. It was neat to see the various sites you work with in relationship to your home; to view the overhead perspective. Mostly it was neat to see the great work being done by a highly involved, skilled and committed landlord. Thank you for your work!!!
