Right at dark this evening an Asy female arrived at my site. I was in my neighbors backyard and I thought I heard that familiar sound. She circled and shot down into a Troyer vertical like she had been here before.

Congrats on your first return. With these warmer temps FINALLY arriving, I suspect we will start to see scouts hitting the mid-west. I am hoping to have my first return late next week.

Good year to you Stan! The much anticipated change in weather pattern should allow things to get back on track. I expect to see reports along the Mississippi River basin in MO over the next couple days.

5:30 pm just now an Asy male showed up landed on a gourd did not go in, has been flying around. Will be interesting we he sees the female come in tonight.

Hi, Stan. Glad to see your report. With the martin houses removed this year for the construction in the River Parks, you may pick up some extra birds that are going to be looking for a new home. Have a great season!

Thanks Dick. I noticed those houses missing. I would hope they would replace them but not sure where with all that construction. This morning there are 4 birds here. 3 males 1 female. I trapped 2 male starlings this morning. They were unusually small. Able to breach. Hope don't have anymore. They harass the perching martins.

Stan, I will need to open some more compartments and gourds. Starlings would have to be small to get through the SREH we have, but they can be determined. The house sparrows are the biggest nuisance here, and they seem to realize right away that the housing is opened up.

It is my understanding that the River Parks martin houses will be down throughout the construction time, but I am hoping it will be replaced once the new park is complete.
