Well, after finding a dead martin last week ( think he froze) and the other two just disappearing, I returned home today after a weekend in the Dallas area to find six martins on my 2 houses. I opened up two more compartments- for a total of six open- and put some meal worms inside the compartments.
When I removed the dead bird last week, I held him for a few minutes and just stroked his back . I could not believe how beautiful he was. I never realized just how purple they really were. I don't get that through my binoculars.
