Tony,
I haven't talked with him in a while so I don't know if he is still keeping
up with his colony. Do you have a colony? I'm beginning to
think this is going to be a bad year for me, as the lone scout that showed
up here is not staying. I only see him a couple times a day and then he
leaves. A lot of reports show they are in northern mo. All I can do is wait
and see. Good luck to you!!!!
Spent several hours in Forest Park, St. Louis, this morning and saw nothing in the way of martins. Suspect you all are dehydrated or something. but have much of the housing open just in case, as well as several satellite sites where I bug helpers by email. the good maintenance crew at Cahokia Mounds on the east side, Illinois, erected the gourd rack this morning.
Martin Colony History: Started trying to attract purple martins in 2012! It's finally happened in 2017! 5 years!!! ASY male and SY female came May 1st, fledged 5 babies!
John I'm anxiously waiting for your post on the scout report for St Louis, MO. I think the closest report to me so far has been Pocohontas, IL. It's getting really exciting!
