Martin Colony History: Area is rural. Offer 28 compartments...metal housing (Lonestar Goliad) & Supergourds all w/crescent entrance holes. Purple martins are abundant here and eager for quality, well maintained, safe housing. Expect near 100% occupancy this season.

My usual line of defense against the house sparrow is shooting (scope-mounted air rifle). I have had a unusually high number of house sparrows this season. There was a pair trying to nest this weekend. I missed several shots. Now they are wise to me so I have had to resort to trapping. I trapped the male in my T-1 Sparrow Trap. Sure enough he attracted another male who is also now trapped. The newly trapped male has been attacking the other male. The other male hosp has been dead for hours, yet the newly trapped male continues to peck & attack the corpse. His rampage in constant. Anyone else ever experience this behavior?

I've had both males and females attack each other. They do the dirty work for me
