I am done!!! Just put the last coat of paint last night on my natural gourds! Can't wait to hang them up! I enjoyed renovating them into a house for our friends. Now all I need is a pair to take notice!!! Thanks

Well I am ready. Just have to put up my setup in March. Then just sit back and see what happens.
I put one of those Natural gourds next to a plastic and it makes the plastic look miniature! So they should take right to them!

Hi Keith, I have tried for 3 yrs. to grow a gourd big enough for a Martin house. I have not been able to get them big enough. I have some seeds from these gourds and will be planting them in a raised bed this year. I got these gourds in the picture given to me. I am very anxious to get them up and see what happens. - Martin Colony History: Taking care of 11 active public colonies and trying to start two more in northwestern PA. Also attempting to restart another one in southwestern PA, in Collier Township's Hilltop Park. In 2017, not sure what happened but the ASY male returned and then a couple of weeks later he was gone. It could have been weather related. No other birds showed up. I had a starling nesting at the Public site that I had trouble getting rid of.
In 2018, we fledged 629 martins at all of the sites.
The gourds look good Sharon. Hopefully these will bring in the nesting pairs.

It is getting so close I am thinking martins all the time now. I seen the first one on April 1 last year. That's darn near it 5 weeks now.
If our weather starts to get nice earlier than normal I may see some sooner. Easter is early this year so it always turns nice after Easter. I will be putting my poles up March 10. Yep I'm ready!!!!
