Kenny Fecker of Ohio hangs many on a line and has been featured, several years back, in the PMCA PM Update. Maybe if you contact them, they could provide some of the photos, if you can credit them.
I know I've seen photos from North and South Carolina, but did not find any in a google search.
This is the video from Animal Plant of Kenny's martins.

Thanks John!
I know of two sites near by with 6-7 houses that have no PMs...have lost the all due to no management.
I know one hanging on, 6 or 7 houses, completely tree encroached. Defies logic but site fidelity is amazing.
My first pair, went into a round hole gourd on a shepard's hook. It is 5' off the ground. Oddly, it was on the gourd rack last year, unused!! I figured if they don't like the round hole, I'll move it from the gourd rack onto a Shepard's hook??????? Young are about a week away from fledging. Female is very dark...go figure.
I had 3 pairs at my new site, then 18 and 25 this year. Seeing all the real poor management, makes me think I want to get a supercolony so maybe I can help some wannabees by fledging a lot. Gourd racks are expensivie and I remember seeing the gourds on a line...Thx again.

Here's a picture of a gourd line, not what one would consider a quality site but it was a super colony for a short period of time, probably because it was near wetlands. The site experienced predator problems and the numbers went way down. The site no longer exists today, 2014 was the last year.
